Mayakovsky’s oeuvre in Sweden in 1970s. Academic research in the field of Russian avant-garde generally, and Mayakovsky’s oeuvre particularly, as well as publication of new translations prepared fertile ground for acquaintance of a wide range of readers with the soviet poet’s works. Neo-avantgardist sentiments in cultural life of the Swedish society and ideas of revolutionary socialism focused perception of V. Mayakovsky’s oeuvre on the sociopolitical aspect. An album of the ”leftward” rock musicians Nynningen, based on Mayakovsky’s First Prelude to the Poem ”At the Top of My voice” is a shining example of this. © Petrozavodsk State University |
