Аннотация: The article explores the theoretical concepts of cultural landscape, analyzes this concept, and defines the concepts of cultural landscape, anthropogenic landscape, natural and cultural territorial complex, etc. The relevance of the study is associated with the growing interest in the Russian North region, which has seen the revival of the Russian Orthodox monasteries preserving the memory of Russia’s historical and spiritual past. The purpose of this article is to study the cultural landscape of the Russian North with its multilayer structure. The objectives of the study were to determine the objects of the cultural landscape and reveal various layers of the cultural landscapes of the Valaam and the Solovetsky archipelagos. The research methodology included data collection, classification and analysis, modeling, and the study of archival and other sources. The study resulted in determining and describing the main layers of the cultural landscape of the said archipelagos.
