Аннотация: The article analyzes Victor Frankl’s criticism of psychoanalysis. It examines the philosophical foundations of psychoanalysis and existential therapy. The author distinguishes therapeutic practice and the theory of psychoanalysis. The philosophical principles of psychoanalysis are compared with the basic classical philosophical concepts - from Plato to Marx. The research has shown sociocultural conditionality of ideas and methods in psychoanalysis, as well as its theoretical similarity to Sartre’s existentialism.
