Аннотация: The article deals with the specificity of knowledge representation, in particular regarding the fragment “China”, in the naive picture of the world. The study was carried out with the help of a drawing test and an associative experiment. The analysis of the obtained results gave a general set of components that make up the image of China in the world picture of an ordinary Russian person living in a metropolis located in the center of Russia, far from the Russian-Chinese border. The features of Chinese culture are interpreted through the prism of Russian cultural objects and under the strong influence of globalization processes and mass culture. The Russians do not differentiate between the cultures of the East Asian region (which includes, besides China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, etc.). In general, the Russians view China positively – as a country with rich history, diverse nature, actively developing technology, economy, and trade.
