Immanuel Kant’s cosmological antinomies
Pavel Florensky
Аннотация: This article examines the critique of arguments supporting Immanuel Kant’s antinomies as presented by the Russian philosopher Pavel Florensky in his article titled “The Cosmological Antinomies in the Works of Immanuel Kant”. This work offers a novel and comprehensive explanation, as well as a mathematical substantiation of Florensky’s arguments concerning Kant’s first two mathematical antinomies. Due to time constraints, Florensky had to limit his explanations, which makes this article’s in-depth exploration particularly significant. Furthermore, it highlights the relevance of Florensky’s teaching about Kant’s antinomies in the context of modern history and philosophy of science. The authors conclude that Florensky’s methodological principle of antinomianism presents a promising alternative to both technocratic rationalism and postmodern irrationalism.
