Аннотация: The article hypothesizes that there is a typological connection between the swan maiden figure and the image of a mermaid. These images are connected through the motif of a naked bride related to a certain space in terms of a storyline, on the one hand, and through the rite of “parting with spring” performed at a certain time, on the other hand. Thus, the wedding theme is always associated with certain liminal space and time, and the swan maiden and the mermaid typologically correspond to such conditions of wedding folklore.
