Аннотация: Existentialism and phenomenology are among the most influential trends in twentieth-century philosophy. This article explores the role and significance of these trends in pedagogy. It will explicate Edmund Husserl’s concept of the “lifeworld” and Martin Heidegger’s concept of “being-in-the-world” in the context of educational theory and practice. The author relates the examination of such structures of human consciousness and existence as intentionality and care to the need to humanize modern education and imbue it with a personalized and more meaningful focus.
