Аннотация: Dynamics of investments is a basic parameter of a reproduction process. In Republic of Karelia, as well as in Russia, solution of housing problem is one of the main priorities of public policy. In spite of significant activation of the state in house building, conditions for acquisition of property are prohibitive for the majority of population, therefore, government should, first, play the role of investor in this area. In this regard, state programs become important investment means. The article analyzes types, goals and sources of funding of state programs of Republic of Karelia in house building. According to the analysis, establishment of an effective segment in house building is impossible without state support, including investments. Effective state housing policy should be worked out for that purpose.
