Аннотация: Contemporary world politics demand global civil society’s active participation in solving international problems. This article examines peace organizations as specific actors of international relations. Major transformations of Finnish peace organizations as well as activists’ approach to the NATO problematics in the period between the 1980s and present time is analyzed on the basis of literature and interviews conducted. The approach of Finnish peace organizations partially reflects the dynamics of internal interaction of the peace movement and is characterized by its critical stance towards NATO. At the same time, NATO issues are not the top priority of these organizations, as their primary concern is with such issues as weapons proliferation, militarism, conflict resolution and environmental protection.
